Dob is passionate about the opportunities for business advantage coming from technology innovation and strategic digital disruption.

Recently, Cloud technologies are becoming more popular in Bulgaria. How do you determine potential entry of Cloud-based managed services in Bulgaria and is the country behind other EU countries?

Thank you for the question. I don`t think that Bulgaria is behind compared to the average level in the EU. Not geographical dimensions but the business specifics have the major contribution to rapid or moderate use of Cloud services in different countries. Countries with a strong startup or medium-sized corporate environment definitely occupy leading positions in terms of penetration of Cloud services, including the UK, Scandinavia, Germany and Israel. Large corporations follow the trend at a more moderate pace. Given the highly-developed IT Industry in Bulgaria, often driven by the vivid presence of global IT companies on the Bulgarian market, we expect a rapid expansion of the AWS Cloud services in the next 12-24 months. At the same time, we observe the steady growth of Cloud services startup scene. We also expect the rapid growth of Cloud services in the public sector over the next 24-36 months.

What are the opportunities and benefits that the AWS Channel Reseller Program gives?

AWS is a “self-service” Cloud platform and every customer – large or small – is able to purchase Cloud services using a credit card. At the same time, many of our customers expect services that are similar to established IT business practices. Usually, they require monthly invoices in BGN or Euro, detailed utilization reports on the use of services split by projects or functions, cost optimisation and discount schemes, opportunities to define budgets business feathers, maintenance services to Cloud infrastructure management IT services and others. As an AWS Reseller, HeleCloud works with customers from medium and large scale to enable them to obtain the best conditions for maximum flexibility. Through our services, we upgrade the standard AWS platform, in order to respond to our customer’s business needs.

On April 6 HeleCloud announced that it is the only company in the AWS Channel Reseller Program with an office in Bulgaria, which offers its entire portfolio of services for the Bulgarian market through a local advisory team. The organisation is an authorized partner. What are the plans for the development of HeleCloud business both at a national and international level?

Since its launch, HeleCloud is a partner of AWS in Europe. The company was registered in and is operating from the UK and Bulgaria, covering a wide geographical range that includes EMEA region. In 2017 and 2018 we will continue to enforce the brand and build an international presence in Western, Northern and Eastern Europe. We will develop a new Cloud and vertical competencies. The needs of our customers lead us in the process of international expansion in terms of technology and business specializations.

Will Bulgaria be a target market for AWS Cloud-based services, which HeleCloud offers? Which organisations in Bulgaria use AWS solutions, provided by HeleCloud?

Cloud-based services provide unprecedented opportunities for productivity, cost efficiency, security and flexibility. Customers in 190 countries, many of which in Bulgaria, are using AWS as a core operational or development platform. The advantages of the Cloud are available to every kind of business. Sure, given its strong presence in Bulgaria, HeleCloud will continue to provide its services with a focus on the Bulgarian market.

Currently, in Bulgaria mostly startup organisations use Cloud technology, but our experience in foreign markets shows that medium and large businesses increasingly turn to programs for migration to a Cloud environment. As a rule, AWS announces customers’ names only when they explicitly wish to be mentioned. Some of the companies in Bulgaria, who publicly announced that they work on AWS, are SAP, Software AG, VMware (in partnership), Progress and Skyscanner. Of course, many other companies are also using AWS but did not disclose it. Most of the modern mobile applications and web platforms use AWS. HeleCloud works with a wide range of AWS customers and partners, some of which are on the Bulgarian market.
