Public Cloud is more secure than traditional data centres as Public Cloud services, such as the AWS Platform, provide unprecedented security capabilities in terms regulatory standards compliance, big data analytics to risk mitigation and incident response based on AI, said HeleCloud CEO Dob Todorov at the ITC Annual Security Conference “Safe & Secure”, which took place on January 31, 2018, in London.
“Public Cloud services, such as the AWS Platform, provide unprecedented security capabilities – from compliance with regulatory standards, such as GDPR and MiFID II, through SIEM platforms to big data, analytics and event management for predictive analytics and effective risk mitigation and incident response, based on Artificial Intelligence. We strongly encourage our customers and partners to migrate all mission-critical services to the Cloud – and HeleCloud and ITC can help them on this journey. Public Cloud is much more secure than traditional data centres – but one has to do it right”, said Dob Todorov on the stage.
Dob Todorov shared his experience and insights on cloud security and shared responsibility model, the protection of sensitive data, personal data and GDPR and staged the presentation “Secure Your New Public Cloud” sourced from HeleCloud best practices and know-how.
Each action taken by each user in the Cloud is recorded and can be checked at any time by simply reviewing the logs. The security experts easily examine:
- Who is accessing company resources?
- Which resources are accessed?
- When do they access the resources?
- Where do they access the resources from?
The Cloud services platform of Amazon Web Services (AWS) has numerous functionalities – compute power, networking, database storage and content delivery among others. The security, however, has the highest priority and AWS provides a number of security services including:
- Amazon Macie – uses machine learning to automatically discover, classify, and protect sensitive data in AWS.
- AWS Shield – safeguards web applications running on AWS from DDoS.
- Amazon GuardDuty – continuously monitors for malicious or unauthorized behaviour to help you protect your AWS accounts and workloads.
How to establish secured cloud services, what to take into consideration and more you can find in our “Secure Your New Public Cloud” presentation.
The AWS Cloud spans 52 Availability Zones within 18 geographic regions around the world, with announced expansion plans for 12 more Availability Zones and four regions.
