Senior Pre-sales Architect

As a Senior Pre-Sales Architect, you will shape customer pre-sales opportunities and articulate business and technical strategy to customers and prospects. This is a customer facing role working together with the account management, so you’ll need proven skills in a customer facing position, and will be leading the pre-sales engagement, shaping the overall proposition and acting as a trusted advisor for complex cloud solutions to organisations in all sectors.

You will need to be comfortable engaging will all levels of customer representatives, from engineers to technology leaders and C-level executives. This position is reporting to the Head of Presales and provides a significant opportunity to make an impact in a fast growing cloud centric organisation.

The role has currently a global outlook, supporting Presales activities across all territories that HeleCloud operates and may require travel to prospect and customer locations once travel and work practice restrictions allow.

You will also lead and manage the process of responding to RFIs and RFPs, mastering the required HeleCloud resources to do so.

Key Duties

Provide technical assistance to the sales team during the pre-sales process, including technical qualification meetings and customer presentations.

Primarily responsible for influencing and shaping cloud solutions during pre-sales engagements. To take advantage of this opportunity you will need to be a highly technical individual with solid hands on capability as a Technical Designer, Solution Lead or Architect with the ability to transform and enhance client vision and outcomes into a winning solution.

Maintaining an in-depth delivery understanding of AWS public cloud architectures, DevOps practices and cloud native development processes.

Driving the adoption of HeleCloud design principles and AWS best practices/standards for the implementation of solutions across the organisation.

Assisting the Products and Propositions lead in the development and creation of presentations, customer case studies and other propostions collateral.

Working closely with customers to ensure you understand their cloud and application requirements and design and position solutions best suited to deliver these requirements always considering security as a core principle.

Estimate the effort required to deliver the solutions you have proposed and produce commercial estimates for proposals

Ensuring all customer concerns are satisfied and risks taken away leading to a technical close

Continuously review pre-sales documentation and templates and make recommendations to improve the quality of the documentation

Handover closed opportunities to the delivery team

Working with the Partner Team in managing and building important relationships directly with key partners and vendors, such as AWS.

Keeping up-to-date with current and future technologies, products and strategies providing insight and opinions both internally and externally

Support Marketing with events – evangelising HeleCloud and its services.

Responsibility for the quality of all technical deliverables during the sales cycle.

Leading customer discussions and workshops around technical adoption, customer strategy and requirements.

Working with the Partner Team in managing and building important relationships directly with key partners and vendors, such as AWS.

Required Skills

5+ years of previous hands on delivery / implementation related work around public cloud solutions (AWS preferred).

3+ years of recent architecture solution design and technical leadership experience.

3+ years of previous presales or consulting experience.

You will understand DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD.

Ability to identify and understand business requirements and translate into workable technology solutions.

Hands on ability to mock up solutions by applying your AWS skills to help customers visualise the solution.

Have been engaged directly with customers and prospects and know how to deal with critical situations in front of clients.

Entrepreneurial mindset, enjoy working autonomously but being a team player. 

Able to cope with unclear situations and apply common sense logic to create clear plans. 

Able to prioritise and be flexible to adapt and re-prioritise based on business needs

Ability to combine multiple concepts and perspectives into a unified, convincing message. Effectively communicating complex technical concepts verbally and in writing.

Minimal Requirements

AWS Solutions Architect Associate Certification

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field – or very significant experience required.
